Connection Col du Pillon with the Tsanfleuron Glacier
The idea to connect Col du Pillon with the Tsanfleuron Glacier emerged. Two initiative committees from the cantons of Bern and Valais apply for a concession to operate a cable car in the Diablerets mountain range. The permit from the National Transportation Department is granted, under the condition that a connecting station at Cabane des Diablerets be built.
1963
Opening of the stretch to Pillon
The LRD, Luftseilbahn Reusch – Cabane des Diablerets AG, begins operations with two partial segments Reusch – Oldenegg and Oldenegg – Cabane. The stretch Pillon – Pierres Pointes is built by TPD (Téléphériques Pillon – Glacier des Diablerets SA).
1964
Connection on the Vaud side
In July, parallel to the national exposition, the first cable car connection between the Vaud side and Diablerets Glacier (Pillon – Pierres Pointes – Cabane – Glacier des Diablerets) is put into operation.
1971
Ski lift Dôme
Construction and opening of the first ski lift (Dôme ski lift) on the Tsanfleuron Glacier for summer skiing.
1977
Scex Rouge
The Scex Rouge chairlift is built.
1979
Ski lift Dôme
The new Dôme ski lift is built and is put into operation.
1983
Ski lift Quille du Diable
In addition to existing installations, the new Quille du Diable ski lift is put into operation.
1993
Ski lift Tsanfleuron
The Tsanfleuron ski lift is built.
1997
Reusch–Oldenegg cable car
The new company, Glacier 3000 Région Les Diablerets – Gstaad SA, is the result of a merger between the two earlier companies, LRD and TPD. The existing installations are renovated; the new cable car Reusch –Oldenegg is built.
1999
Glacier 3000 cable car
In November the new Glacier 3000 cable car becomes operational.
2000
Restaurant Botta
In May, construction of the Restaurant Botta, designed by the star architect Marion Botta, begins. In October the new 4-person Scex Rouge chairlift goes into operation.
2001
Opening
Restaurant Botta is opened.
2005
Increase value of experience and quality
Glacier 3000 is taken over by three new investors (Marcel Bach, Bernie Ecclestone und Jean-Claude Mimran) with the goal of investing for the future in order to increase the value of the experience and the quality of the mountain destination. The operating company Gstaad 3000 AG is founded.
2006
New snow-making equipment
For the start of the winter season, the new snow-making equipment between Oldensattel and Oldenalp is commissioned. This makes it possible for the 7 km Olden run to already open in December and to stay open until April with good weather conditions.
2007
Opening of the Alpine Coaster
In May the Alpine Coaster is opened. The highest situated toboggan run in the world is the newest attraction in the diverse range of Glacier 3000 attractions.
2014
Peak Walk by Tissot
In June it is possible to shop at the Watch & Souvenir Shop for the first time and in October the opening of the Peak Walk by Tissot is celebrated. It is the first suspension bridge worldwide that connects two peaks with one another.
2017
Red Run
At the beginning of the 17/18 winter season, Glacier 3000 expanded its offer with a brand new product, the Red Run slope. At the same time, the self-service was completely remodeled, offering the clients visibility and choices.
